Hello fellow Community!

Have you  always or ever wanted to present ON-SITE for a global audience of project professionals? Well, now’s your chance! The Call for Presentations for educational sessions at Global Summit 2024 in Los Angeles, 18-21 September, is now OPEN! Visit: https://na.eventscloud.com/eSites/777395/Homepage

What’s Global Summit? It’s PMI’s largest, in-person, signature event of the year. It brings together the leaders and project professionals committed to making ideas reality.

With roughly 100 educational sessions, three general sessions and an amazing Exhibit Hall, it’s an incredible event to learn, network and grow your community.

This is your chance to ask questions about submitting, sharing tips and tricks, or just comment about some great presentations you’ve seen at previous events (PMI or other):

--Are you someone considering submitting a proposal and have questions? Drop your questions below, and I’ll do my best to answer. (With the caveat that we expect to get 4x the number of submissions than we have spots, so my advice doesn’t guarantee acceptance into the program)
--Were YOU a previous speaker at an in person event and have advice to aspiring presenters? Share your tips and tricks in the reply....

OR…

--Has anyone attended a sensational presentation you will never forget during previous conferences?? I’d love to hear about it!

Are you getting excited for LA? We sure hope so! Let's get the conversation going and flowing as we journey from "Submission to Summit"!

So happy to heard that the team is considering those! My first conference is LA, I believe that I met there Kiron. After years of colaboration, it was nice to have a few minutes with him and talk about profesional development and challenges in our organization.
Thanks Mayte Mata-Sivera - it was great to meet you as well in 2019!

It was my first Global Summit and I really enjoyed being part of the Ask the Experts team - while we didn't have a ton of drop-by visitors, the ones we had did have some really insightful questions for us.

Overall, Global Summit was a great chance to meet a lot of folks whom I had only networked with virtually up till that time. The main tracks and breakout sessions were very good as well, and given the launch of the PMI re-brand coinciding with the 50th anniversary it was a really special event.

I would definitely relish the opportunity to participate in another such session!

Kiron Bondale: You're ahead of me in this aspect as despite being heavily involved with PMI for 8 consecutive years now, I never ever had the chance to attend a PMI conference, summit or event in-person so far and didn't have the chance to meet any of you, including PMI staff, whom I've been virtually and extensively engaging with for years. Most of the time, my issue is with the overall event cost including travel cost as my employer doesn't cover those so I would definitely relish the opportunity to participate in the global summit and be part of the "Ask the Expert" panel and probably PMI will cover part of the travel and event cost at that point which would make it easier.

Hello Mayte Mata-Sivera - and thanks for sharing these great stories and tips! Do you want to tag someone in your network to share his/her experience as well? Then ask that person to "tag" it forward:-)

Somthing that surprised me was that I finally had the chance to chat with Thomas W, whom I've admired for years through our discussions and conversations in this forum. Despite his impressive credentials as a PMI fellow and PMI Board member, Thomas was incredibly approachable and kind. I can't recall if I met him at the LA or Philadelphia convention, as I was not "collecting" photos with people the first times that I joined.

Question for Thomas Walenta : What advice would you offer newcomers attending their first event in LA next year? Also, do you remember individuals you've met during global? (Tag them, I let's keep alive the game that Kimberly Whitby started.

Rami Kaibni Mayte Mata-Sivera Thanks for your patience- it does not look like there will be a formal "Ask the Experts" area as there was in 2018 and 2019. It's something I know is of interest and will continue to advocate for it for the future.
