What specific data analyses problems is AI helping you to solve as a Project Manager?
For instance, I am using AI for statistical analysis, hypothesis testing, and simulations, but in-house applications have limited capabilities, and this impacts breadth of results. Saving Changes...

Bernal, in Construction, we use AI for Predictive Analytics to improve our estimates and bugeting. AI algorithms can analyze historical project data to predict future outcomes such as project completion times, budget overruns, resource allocation needs, and potential risks.

Thanks Rami! Wondering what legacy forecasting models you apply and how you measure the precision of AI generated predictions against those.
Regards!
Bernal,
I am using AI for the same things you mentioned, specifically for Six Sigma in complex systems. I too have am dealing with the limited abilities of in-house tools.
I am finding AI language based question and answer helpful for learning about and using the more advanced functions of my available tools. The learning curve is much steeper. My questions don't have to be exact to get suggestions that I can explore and then many programs will guide you through the functions.
I don't have the breadth of results as more powerful tools, but I can still use my experience to identify the areas where I should focus deeper and ask more specific questions of the data.

Thanks Keith! I am also finding constraints on improvement of the algorythms since in-house deployments are limited by financials and security considerations. Do you see the same on your end?

To use a new buzzword, generative AI is able to replace most of project/portfolio/program manager tasks starting from initiation process. At least to generate a first approach that has to be validated. Generative AI is able to analyze tons of information that will help to deal with uncertainty. About other tasks, as you mentioned in your post, project/program/portfolio management tools are using AI from long time ago.

Thanks Sergio! Guess Project Initiation tasks will be expedited since you can ask AI to generate a Charter with basic parameters. Wondering if someone has experience with project feasibility tasks and how fast AI get those done.

Thanks Noble! I am running into some problems running Monte Carlo simulations for risk analysis due to the amount of data that needs to be loaded into the app to have good results. But that is a constraint of the in-house development I need to use. Guess more robust deployments easily accomodate large amounts of data points.
Regards!

Bernal,
Yes, data security is especially important. We deal with some sensitive technologies and are a publicly traded company so our financials are considered insider information. Our intranet web search engine was Google years ago but that was considered a risk so we are stuck with rather awful search capabilities. For strategic considerations, data security becomes a top priority.
I would love to use available tools like Hadoop Map Reduce to look for trends in large hand-entered databases but for now that is not an option except perhaps in very special cases. There is certainly no kind of query on demand capability to have real-time links between business systems although there are strategic initiatives for that in the future. For today, as time passes and we get more business records, we must update queries to gather data for analysis so there is a lag between when the data can spot trends.
By the way I am looking forward to a vacation coming up in Costa Rica. It looks beautiful and we have lots of places to explore!

I have. You can create a full business case. I mean, you can create all what is needed before the project is approved. In our case we started to create Personas and from it we ´create Persona´s Journey Map, product features and so on including the feasibility study and business case. Take into account we do this as a mean to have shortest time to go to approval BUT we always spend time to validate what genAI has created. This is something that some organizations forget: you have to use the right prompt to help the genAI do not generate waste and you have to validate the outputs, always.
