Automated Project Management tool

I'm currently on the lookout for a project management tool. Previously, I used ServiceNow where I could easily create project plans. I could break down projects into different phases based on what needed to be done, and then link specific tasks or stories to each phase. This helped me keep track of how much progress we'd made on each project. When we finished a task or story, the project's completion percentage would automatically update, which made it easy to see how we were doing at a glance.

Managing resources was straightforward too. I could assign team members to different projects, and they could easily see which tasks they needed to work on and log their hours.

So, I'm looking for a new project management tool that can do similar things, like updating project plans based on the tasks or stories associated with them. It needs to be user-friendly and help me stay organized with my projects and resources.

As far as I am aware, there are a few other options: Asana, Trello, Jira, Monday.com - I think for the purposes you've mentioned, probably Asana will work for you. Check them out!

And if the projects have more intricate activity dependencies within and between them, a classical scheduling tool such as MS Project with the online web component for users to update their tasks could also work...

You might also look at Eclipse PPM from Upland Software - it is cloud based and an intuitive user experience is one of its key benefits...

I will write something obvious but I suffered the implementation and use of lot of tools. My recommendation is to select the tool based on the defined process.

Primavera is the complete solution.
Otherwise you can adopt any ERP system (Contract/Project Management Module) and customize the tool as per your need and you can integrate another project management tool like primavera as well otherwise Primavera stand alone works well.

Please explore Basecamp Project Management tool. I've used it long time ago but seems there are lot more features added to it during this time.

Basecamp apps for iPhone, iPad, or Android are also available with good pricing.

Thank you all for your suggestions. I've tested a few of them, and it appears that Primavera is more tailored to construction, whereas we are an IT managed services firm. Currently, I'm exploring Basecamp. My question is, can we create stories in this tool, and does it support both Agile and Waterfall methodologies? Puneet Verma

Hi Uzma, As per Basecamp they support Kanban, Scrum, Agile or Waterfall methodologies. You can check with their support how this works.
