The Online Community Team, in partnership with our UX and Product Teams, is always looking for ways to improve the community's experience as you learn and collaborate here on the discussion forums.

Over the last few months our team analyzed engagement levels across the seven discussion pages and found that the majority of traffic and activity (discussion posts, views, and comments) were primarily centralized within three following discussion pages: Certification Central, Community Central, and Project Management Central.

As a result of the analysis, the following discussion pages were sunset today: Citizen Development, Disciplined Agile, Package Selection, and Process Improvement.

All of the previous discussions and comments on those discussion pages that were sunset have been retained on the website so the community can continue to access and engage with those previous discussions.

The intent of the change is to improve the user experience and make it easier for community members to find existing discussions and jump into the conversation as easily as possible.

What are your thoughts on the user experience improvements?

Laura Coscarelli: Thanks for the update - Good Call. I've been an active member of this community for over 8 years now and I rarely visited those pages that were sunset except for Citizen Development (If was up to me, I would leave that page or merge it with AI Page because in a way, it is related).

Laura Coscarelli -

I'm a bit concerned that the Disciplined Agile content will no longer be available in a single location. While it can be searched, is there a single place where the discussions would be visible? If not, I might suggest migrating them over to the pmi.org DA micro-site so they are available as resources from that site.

Laura,
I think it is a good choice. While many menu selections might seem preferable, it also creates more places for valuable input to get lost, especially when there are very infrequent new posts in that topic.

I also appreciate other improvements you've made and realize there have been some growing pains. Among other things we can now edit our typos without extra code at the end of our posts. I have noticed a more user friendly interface. Two thumbs up there!

I also really appreciate you letting people know about the change proactively. A big part of PM can often be the communication to people about the change and you're doing a great job of that. That kind of communication does not come accidentally, and you hit on all the key messages. Another 2 thumbs up.

Keith Novak: Not sure what you mean by "we can now edit our typos without extra code at the end of our posts." I still can't edit grammar erros when they occur. Lok how many erors are inthis meesage now (Intentional). I can't spot the errors or have the ability to correct them. I have to read all my message again to check for any grammatical errors!

Thank you Rami Kaibni, Keith Novak, and Kiron Bondale - it really means a lot to hear that we're on the right track with proactive communications and small, steady, incremental improvements to the user experience.

There will be more to come as we progress towards a more unified digital experience for our PMI community, so we will continue the dialogue here as we use engagement data to inform the decisions on how to prioritize the improvements.
