PMI-SP removed from the PMI website

It seems at some point recently PMI-SP has been removed from the list of certifications at https://www.pmi.org/certifications

Has there been any comms on this or on what the plan for schedule management is within PMI moving forward? I've been searching but can find nothing.

Considering that it schedule management can be a core focus of many careers and how painful meeting the PMI-SP eligibility requirements is (finding 30hrs of scheduling focused contact training) removing it with no notice seems like a very unhelpful approach to take.

Elliott -

PMI hasn't fully retired all content online related to the PMI-SP but it is definitely missing from the normal certification pages.

Kimberly Whitby or Laura Schofield - could one of you find out the official word from the Certification group about this credential?

Thanks!

This is very odd that it is missing. I hold the PMI-SP credential and I am not aware of any news or plans of retiring this credential. Would be interested as well to know what is going on Kimberly Whitby. Thanks!

Hello Elliott Holder - thanks for your patience while I was looking into this! I was informed that although this certification may not be featured on the "framework" page, it still on the website at https://www.pmi.org/certifications/scheduling-sp.
The framework page only emphasizes the areas of highest interest and focus within the community right now.

Apologies for the confusion and have a great weekend!

Kimberly Whitby: Thank you. I find it odd that all credentials are there except for PMI-SP and DASSM. If I was a newbie, and I want to go check PMIs offerings, unless I have the specific link you provided, I would never be able to tell that PMI has PMI-SP, under compare certifications. Something is not right.

Hi Kimberly,

Thank you for following up. Just to echo Rami's sentiment, the fact that it is no longer listed on a page you get to by navigating to "All Certifications" is a huge concern regarding PMI's intentions of supporting it going into the future.

I am aware that PMI-SP is not a particularly popular certification but between the delisting from the All Certifications page and non-existent support of any schedule management training materials within PMI's catalogue despite 30hrs of focused schedule management training being an eligibility requirement of the qualification it seems that PMI is really doing everything it can to keep it unpopular. If the bare minimum was done to make qualifying for it it achievable it'd probably see a significant upswing in take-up.

I hold the PMI-SP certificate since 2022. I do hope it is still valid as I have invested a lot on getting the certification.
