Has there been any comms on this or on what the plan for schedule management is within PMI moving forward? I've been searching but can find nothing.
Considering that it schedule management can be a core focus of many careers and how painful meeting the PMI-SP eligibility requirements is (finding 30hrs of scheduling focused contact training) removing it with no notice seems like a very unhelpful approach to take. Saving Changes...

Hello Tolgahan - I have some information from our BO's. While this specific credential isn’t featured on the framework page, it can still be found and purchased on PMI.org. at https://www.pmi.org/certifications/scheduling-sp. The main page only emphasizes the areas of highest interest and focus within the community right now.
PMI continuously evaluates our current portfolio to determine the right product mix to meet our community’s most important needs, including ongoing evaluation of PMI-SP. There hasn't been a decision to retire this certification and we continue to sell and support it.
Also, if PMI were ever to retire a specific credential, the precedent is to give significant advanced notice to customers, forever recognizing the validity of the certification, including allowing customers to stay current through PDUs and renewal. This mitigates any risk one may contemplate in deciding whether to certify should they have concerns about the cert's future.
I hope this helps, and if you have further questions, please direct them to [email protected].

I am new to PMI and trying to find PMI-SP courses and materials is really frustrating. If you do not list / advertise it with the other certs it will fall into obvilion. It seems very odd that is is so hidden and also very annoying to be honest. Saving Changes...

I have been in scheduling for over 20 years and in my humble opinion PMI has never properly supported this credential. We have a growing need in the scheduling community and a rapidly shrinking pool or resources. PMI's lack of proper support and now to not even have it searchable to my staff only exasperates the issue. Those of us in scheduling for a longer period of time have had to turn to other organizations for the support we need in our industry. It is very disappointing to have not found it when I looked for it and to have to go to extra steps to find the information I needed.

Sylvia Donado , thank you for sharing your thoughts and experiences regarding the scheduling credential with PMI. I can understand your frustration, especially after such a long commitment to the field. It’s seems that the scheduling community has unique needs that require more robust support. While it’s disappointing that you had to seek assistance elsewhere, it’s worth considering that PMI may have their own strategic reasons for their current approach. Your insights are valuable, and it’s important for PMI to hear from experienced members like you.
Kimberly Whitby ,is there any way we can assist in conveying our concerns to the exam or credential department? I appreciate your help with this. Thank you

I stumbled on this post after a Google search [pmi-sp pmi removing] on the topic, as I just presented on the PMI-SP and could not find it listed on the PMI site! Scheduling is one of the core competencies of Project Management! Very disappointed with the way PMI-SP has been shuffled into the background by PMI. Since it is out of sight, very few care about it at this point. Remember our PMI members will follow PMI's lead. The triple constraint is SCHEDULE (usually named first), before cost and scope. I really hope it is given the prominence it deserves.
