Average Project Management Salaries after PMP Certified
Janet LemanskiOfffice Engineer/Document Control Specialist, PMP| Bryant Associates IncSpringdale, MD, United States
I was wondering what the salary difference is for project management positions after individuals receive their PMP certification. I am a Document Control Specialist and obtained my PMP certification. I have worked under the same Resident Engineer for 10 years in Construction Management. I have learned a lot over time.
So I wanted to know if anyone knew if there is a percentage difference in salaries for PMP certified individuals? Saving Changes...
It really depends on your location and on your industry. In the Pulse of the Profession and Salary Survey publications from PMI, they regularly report a meaningful increase in salary for those holding the credential compared to those who don't, but I would prefer to go with an unbiased source! You'd likely be best off doing a quick search in your location using a popular job search engine like Dice or Indeed to see what different PM roles offer...

While I haven't noticed a direct salary increase since obtaining my PMP. PMI-ACP, & PMI-RMP certification, my focus remains on continuous learning and validating our knowledge. I hold the belief that certifications help to affirm and expand our expertise, fostering greater confidence and improving our effectiveness. I understand that salary increments may not be immediate, but I trust that through ongoing growth and improvement, they will eventually follow. Saving Changes...
