I am managing a Cloud migration project which currently is encountering lot of issues due to unforseen challenges and gaps . This was supposed to be a lift and shift project, but, teams are spending a lot of time getting things done from infrastructure to applications. Saving Changes...
Can you provide more details about the scope of the project as there is quite a range of scenarios for cloud migration and otherwise it will be pretty hard for anyone to provide guidance?

Sounds like "Scope Creep" from the teams by adding infrastructure and application task requirements that were not identified within the initial discovery for identifying and setting the scope of a "lift and shift" project of their current cloud environment's infrastructure and applications. Seen it before when the "new" cloud infrastructure, new or upgraded applications, and the current cloud systems run into compatibility/configuration problems in the new environment. Saving Changes...
Make sure you grasp the motivations behind the move and the intended results before defining the migration project's goals in detail. Budget, personnel, and technical know-how should all be distributed properly. To deal with unforeseen difficulties, evaluate possible risks and create mitigation plans. Saving Changes...
