Can you share some of your risk management success stories where the response plan helped mitigate impacts once the risk materialized? Saving Changes...
in one construction poject which i had managed before 10 yeas , we faced a big risk of heavy rains which can be to the point of floods , so i preferred to delay the excavation of the building to avoid the expected damages which no one can control it. also , we made another compressed schedule for that delay Saving Changes...
In my first job which was as a systems administrator/manager for a small software development company we moved office locations a short distance. Part of that move was to change our network wiring approach from using 10BASE2 connections (point to point) to 10BASE-T connections with a small vendor setting the latter up. The transition was set to happen on a weekend.
One of the concerns I had was about the "new" network not functioning properly at the new location so I asked my assistant to preserve all the 10BASE2 network cabling rather than have it be discarded during the move.
I'm thankfully I did so because sure enough on Sunday afternoon when the movers had left and we plugged the servers and workstations in to the brand new cables, nothing worked. The vendor's staff were unreachable (this was pre-cell phone/pager/smartphone/IM) and we had under 18 hours to get things working otherwise we'd have a bunch of highly paid analysts, developers and testers standing idle.
Thanks to the cabling having been retained, my assistant and I spent three hours fishing and running cables over ceiling cross bars and down to each computer and, while it looked ugly, the network was fully functional on Monday morning!

Francisco, in 2022 as we were slightly exiting the COVID Peak we did identify Supply Chain Risk for a long lead item related to a Mechanical component as a Risk and the response involved was by diversifying the supplier data base by having alternative equivalent specifications acceptable.
Fair enough, this risk materialized, as the supplier faced shortage in some parts coming from another country and informed us that he wont be able to deliver on time so we immediately activated the risk response and went out to market to source out the component base on the alternative specs and we were able to source it out and have it delivered with a 2-week delay which was within our schedule contigency reserve.
