Certainly, let's clarify the distinctions and common skills between product and project management.

The disparities between product and project management are widely understood. However, what about the essential skills for success? Which ones overlap in both fields?

Pretty much every Power/Soft/Interpersonal skill which we view as important for project management also applies to product management. And there will be a number of technical skills such as risk management or the ability to manage financials or a time line which will also apply.

And the domain-specific knowledge that a project manager needs to be credible and effective will definitely be needed by a product manager but likely at a much lower level of detail.

Eduard, the most important and full transferrable skills are Soft/Interpersonal Skills. Those do overlap between any two fields and are a necessity for success.
