Laura, at the moment, I can't comment on the specific questions you are looking for because I didn't give that a thought yet nor have I implemented any but I did go through the report last week and in my opinion, it's an essential reading for project professionals who want to navigate and leverage generative AI tools! I especially liked the Plug-and-Play prompt ideas at the end of the report.

Glad to hear that you found the prompt ideas useful!
Prompt engineering is a near term requirement. Eventually, chat-based AI tools will get sophisticated enough at understanding context to be able to reduce the need to spoon feed them with a progressive set of prompts.
Having said that "near term" might be a number of years, so for that time period, competency in prompt engineering will be the difference between fumbling with a GenAI tool through a series of trial & error prompts and efficiently and effectively getting the responses we need to solve business problems.
After taking the ten hour AI Made Simple on-demand course a few weeks back, I can already see a difference in my confidence level in crafting prompts.

While I do occasionally challenge others on some of the hype that gets posted about AI, and I may not always sound positive about it, I've actually gone through enough prompt engineering training, beyond what PMI offers, that I can say it's not just me being a luddite, and I've found AI to be incredibly helpful, even if it hasn't been for the project management aspects of my job.
I should clarify. It has been helpful for project management work, just not my PM work specifically. I've put together a set of prompts to help stakeholders come up with a project vision and get a significant head start on requirements documentation. I came up with an algorithm and prompts to help me review resumes and rank candidates to help identify who to interview first. I'm in the middle of using it for some research I'm doing into using economic, financial, and supply chain indicators to help tell a more complete story about trends in our KPIs and OKRs for our strategic objectives.
After prompt patterns and being able to combine them, the most powerful aspect of prompt engineering, that I've found, is the conversational aspect of it. You can spend a lot of time trying to get a prompt perfect, without success. But, instead of getting frustrated, you can talk to the AI about it and ask it for help. In one case, I found out GPT-4 couldn't do what I was trying to accomplish - the shortcoming was on my understanding of what the tool was capable of. Knowing what AI can AND can't do is powerful (which is also why I sometimes poke holes when people start overpromising; I don't need salespeople when I'm looking for practical knowledge).

Prompt engineering is the art and science of designing, creating, and evaluating prompts that direct the GPT model to obtain the desired responses. It is more than just a question or an order or instruction. It is about organizing the input so the model can best understand and respond to it. Each interaction with GPT results in your input being divided into tokens, which are numerically represented with additional positional context.
Using “self-attention,” GPT assesses the significance of each token. It predicts a token sequence, which is then converted into a human-readable format based on extensive training. GPT, as a generative model, does not select from preset answers but forms replies based on its learned patterns. Prompt engineering in conversational AI is about getting the right responses from these models.
