Since Program and Portfolio Management are also part of the core certifications by PMI, I wonder if there will be any PgMchallenge or PfMchallenge? I do understand that some questions in PMchallenge contain scope for PgMP or PfMP. However, will be great if there is a challenge that focus on program and portfolio itself. Personally, I see these challenges as part of continuous learning game. How do you think?

Danny, I see your point of view but the issue is there isn't so much high demand on those two credentials at the moment plus they are very high level credentials so not sure it is feasible to do Challenge practice tests for those but it doesn't hurt to let PMI know about this.
Hi Rami Kaibni , I don’t think these two professional fields exist solely due to high demand, indeed they exist out of necessity in professionalism, the nature of each profession is fundamentally different. Furthermore, by introducing separate challenges that are more focused, it might also promote a deeper understanding in program and portfolio management. Additionally, it’s not like preparing exam questions where the question bank needs constant updating with a lot more efforts. It’s more akin to a game, put forth some standard questions and answer accordingly.

Danny, I wasn't addressing and debating why they exist and certainly didn't say they do exist or they don't solely based on high demand. What I was trying to say is PMI as an organization has priorities, and while introducing challenges is a good and nice to have idea, yet, it is not a must have at the moment so I doubt they will prioritize it as they have so much more on their priority list such as the integration between PMI and PMOGA along with their credentials and refining the community platform including the badging.

Hi Rami Kaibni , thanks for your clarification. However, I believe both the promotion of professionalism and the integration of credentials share a fundamental similarity, which is education and raising awareness. This isn’t something that conflicts between the two. Yet, I understand the prioritization. Therefore, I’m just sharing and suggesting my opinion for improvement and discussion, without any rush.

Danny, I personally support the idea and I tagged PMI staff here and they will hopefully comment on that.

"This planet has - or rather had - a problem, which was this: most of the people living on it were unhappy for pretty much of the time. Many solutions were suggested for this problem, but most of these were largely concerned with the movements of small green pieces of paper, which is odd because on the whole it wasn't the small green pieces of paper that were unhappy."
