Team PMI Infinity is working to build a prompt library to better support project professionals in their use of PMI's GenAI tool, Infinity ( https://infinity.pmi.org/ ).
The Vision! The PMI Infinity Prompt Library will be a curated repository of prompts created and vetted by the PMI community. These prompts help achieve a specific outcome for project managers, such as learning or performing a task. The prompt library will be made available within Infinity.
Submit Your Prompts! As a practicing project manager, what prompts have you found helpful and relevant when utilizing PMI Infinity?
Prompts will be reviewed by SMEs for their utility and criteria fit, and successful prompts will be expanded upon and added to the library along with the submitter's name and profile link.

The key is not "what prompts". The key is creating the prompt in the right format using prompt design. THe two courses delivered by the PMI are good to teach on the matter. Saving Changes...

I teach the 35-hour course for the PMP certification. A couple of months ago one of my students was having trouble understanding the schedule variance and cost variance formulas. I asked PMI Infinity to provide real-world examples to help me explain. Here is one of the prompts I used below. It helped the student understand what the numbers meant to confidently answer a possible test question on this subject.
Please provide a real-world example using the Contruction of a home to explain these two formulas: SV=EV-PV and SPI-EV/PV. First define the variables in each formula then apply these formulas to a home construction schedule and what behind schedule, on schedule and ahead of schedule means in relation to these formulas. This is a fantastic initiative, Team PMI Infinity! The PMI Infinity Prompt Library sounds like a great resource that will significantly streamline project management tasks and enhance learning. It’s exciting to see the PMI community come together to co-create such an invaluable tool. I’ve found prompts particularly useful for risk management assessments and stakeholder communication planning. Looking forward to seeing the collective knowledge grow and to contributing to this innovative project!
PMI Infinity chatbot is a promising use case for gen AI adoption, and building a repository of ready-to-use prompts is a solid idea. However, I don't think it's a very good idea to compete with ChatGPT by focusing on prompts for PMI Infinity (gpt-3.5-turbo), as the same prompts would yield better results on GPT-4. The PMBOK and the articles repository available on PMI may have been used to train the GPT model itself, so they don't add much value to the base model that couldn't be achieved by a simple prompt on chatgpt. Unsolicited Advice Alert: I'd try focusing on applications of gen AI that directly integrate and complement PMI's product offerings.
The idea of building a prompt library is still a winner. Perhaps promoting the initiative through an open hackathon could help attract high-quality prompts and talented prompt engineers? Gabrielle Agosto Saving Changes...
As a practicing project manager using PMI Infinity, I've found several prompts particularly helpful. Regular project status updates help keep all stakeholders informed about key accomplishments, issues, and upcoming milestones. Prompts for identifying and assessing new risks ensure that potential threats are managed proactively with effective mitigation strategies. Evaluating resource allocation helps optimize project efficiency by ensuring the right resources are in place. Additionally, documenting lessons learned and reviewing stakeholder feedback are crucial for continuous improvement and maintaining strong stakeholder engagement.

Dear Booma
Thank you for sharing your thoughts as a practicing project manager using PMI Infinity. It's very interesting to hear about the prompts you've found particularly helpful. Regular project status updates, prompts for identifying and assessing new risks, evaluating resource allocation, and documenting lessons learned are all crucial aspects of effective project management. Your insights will be incredibly useful for others, and I think it would be beneficial to share these prompts more widely so that others can test and implement them in their own projects.
Thank you for your comment. An easy way to test this is through the ChatGPT4 paid version. You can use the "Explore GPTs" function to create a GPT assistant. From there, upload your files and build your own database. Test it with some prompts to perform calculations or get specific results from your database. After many prompts, once the results are satisfactory, you can ask ChatGPT to generate Python code for use in your subsequent calculations. If you are part of a company and have colleagues knowledgeable in Python, the best option would be the "ChatGPT Enterprise" level. This ensures that no data is shared publicly, maintaining your privacy.
I hope this will help you.
One potential negative aspect of using the ChatGPT4 paid version with the "Explore GPTs" function is the cost of accessing these advanced features. Depending on the pricing structure, it may be prohibitive for some individuals or organizations, significantly smaller businesses, or individuals on limited budgets. Additionally, while generating Python code for subsequent calculations can be convenient, it may lead to over-reliance on automated processes, potentially reducing the need for human involvement and critical thinking. There's also the risk of misinterpreting or misusing the results generated by AI, especially if users lack a deep understanding of the underlying principles or context. Finally, although the "ChatGPT Enterprise" level offers enhanced privacy measures, there may still be concerns about data security and the potential for data breaches, especially when dealing with sensitive information. I find that the industry specific prompts are very useful, because you give to GenAi the context. Otherwise you may receive an answer that is quite generic and you may need then to refine again your question. Saving Changes...

Thanks for this follow-up, Laura!
I went through it and see that there are not so many prompts, but I guess they will be soon updated.
I was wondering if PMI will give the chance to contribute to prompt library with kind of a hackaton, like it was suggested in previous messages.
Thanks for all the effort you and your team are putting into PMI Infinity!
