I'm evaluating various PSA suites for my company. Any insights, experiences, comparisons, etc.?

Ken,
I wanted to clarify my earlier response. Actually I thought you were asking for a Package Selection Application suite, thus Advantiv.

Professional services automation apps...there are quite a few. Niku is one of them specifically focused on the PS market. Then there are CRM apps like Siebel that also have PS modules.

Take a look at Project Arena. It's a web-based app - www.projectarena.com

I'm also in a similar market. Check out www.psasoftware.com. It is put out by a vendor (Account 4?), but has fairly robust general infomration

Also take a look at gantthead's PSA Expo section at http://www.gantthead.com/Gantthead/expo/expoMain/1,1755,2,00.html

I'm in the process of growing an ASP. It currently handles cost management and billing. If you wanted to have the most control in how your solution works, you might consider a semi-custom solution from a company like ours(www.ProProject.com).

Regardless of your selection, I'd be interested in opinions on priorities of PSA functions/modules. I developed cost management and billing because it is absolutely essential for at least some companies, those that bill time-and-materials. What should be next? issue management? project planning? collaboration?

Issue management is our #1 priority.
