Can you clarify the question as PDUs really have only one useful purpose which is to enable you to recertify for one or more PMI credentials? Beyond that, I'm not sure there'd be anything more to make the most of...

Kamili, the online training course, if PM related, might count towards your educational hour required to apply for a PMI exam. On another note, if you already have a PMI credential, then those do count towards credential renewal!
Getting your certification after a course is where you'll start, then you will need to get PDUs. Although PDUs are used to recertify, you can make the most of PDUs by gaining new knowledge (i.e GenAI, economic trends, lessons learned, etc.) and retain knowledge over the years, especially if you are out of practice.
