I thought all webinars from the PMI webinars site would be automatically reported for PDUs. Yet, I realize there is a small percentage of webinars that fall under "SELF-REPORTED EDUCATION PDUs" instead of "AUTO-REPORTED EDUCATION PDUs". Does anyone have any idea why, even though both webinars are from PMI, the process is different? This can be seen from ProjectManagement.com Settings. Saving Changes...

Hi Danny Seow - Yes, we do offer some webinars/on-demand videos that are not eligible for auto-reported PDU credit. These videos are typically informational and do not meet the requirements for a registered PDU.

Heather McLarnon: Maybe it would be a good idea to mention that those webinars are not eligible for PDUs.

Heather McLarnon If those videos are "typically informational and do not meet the requirements for a registered PDU", why is self-reporting possible? The nature of the videos remains unchanged. Why is it stated, "The PDUs listed below will need to be self-reported to PMI" instead, even if they do not qualify or meet the PDU requirements?

Rami Kaibni Webinars are marked when they are not eligible for auto-reported credit, and the Talent Triangle break down below the video reflects that as well.

Hi Danny Seow - There are several activities that qualify for PDU credit; from viewing videos, reading articles, to informal learning. The auto-reported PDUs are qualifying activities that are relevant to the PMI Talent Triangle skill area topics, meet a specified purpose, and use knowledgeable resources. These courses are registered in CCRS under our ATP. For the self-reported, as I mentioned previously, they are mainly informational and fall under "Informal Learning" which are structed discussions with others. You can refer to the CCR Handbook (page 10) for a more detailed explanation: https://www.pmi.org/-/media/pmi/documents/public/pdf/certifications/ccr-certification-requirements-handbook.pdf

Hi Heather McLarnon , thanks for the reply. Regardless of whether it's formal or informal learning, as long as it can use to claim for PDUs, there's no reason why it can't be auto-reported. After all, whether it's formal or informal, we're still achieving the same goal of reporting PDUs for renewal. It seems to me that no matter what approach we take, we're still reaching the project goal. I'm still puzzled why it can't be auto-reported. Furthermore, those webinars are from PMI platform.
