We know a big part of our job as project managers is to help keep the project and our resources organized. This takes a lot of coordination and effort on our part. But, what are some of the tools, techniques, and processes you use as a project manager that help keep YOU organized? For example, I’ve been using EverNote for some time now and that’s really helped me keep in sync.
Love to hear some of your ideas.

I use project register which is a kind of project management plan covering the basic knowledge areas with respect to PMBOK and for day to day activities I use windows notes, To Do's in my email client and as third back up I utilize my cell phone To Do's (Reminders, Meetings etc). This helps me not to forget my daily plan . Also reminders set for at least a week giving me a buzz works as double check. Furthermore I do follow a ritual of maintaining project diary =) Saving Changes...

The key factor for me is the medium/tool must be easily accessible. So physically, I prefer sticky notes and electronically, I prefer normal text files since it is very fast to open them and highly portable (copy, paste and save to anywhere I like). Saving Changes...

Hi Jennifer,
At any given time, i'm juggling with a number of projects, all of which involve various activities such as plan/risk/issue log reviews, checkpoints, project boards etc, depending on the project phase.
To make progress, we identify actions based on these reviews and these are captured on my personal Action Log. Each action is referenced against each project, with ownership, actionee, status, completion date and of course, priority (etc.).
It's simple and allows me to focus on the priority actions, those that are due or however else I choose to filter this spreadsheet. I review this at the start and end of the week, every week.
I also have a action list with the outcomes should I (or anyone else) wish to refer back the outcome of a action.
