Hello PMI Community,
The company I work for is implementing a very large, multi-year, financial system transformation program that has a large number of programs with high complexity of inter/intra dependency management. We need to be able to closely correlate, manage and visualize dependencies with an approach to identify areas of risks/issues (focus on schedule, scope and data) that emerge so that we can proactively assess impacts on inter/intra dependencies and mobilize mitigation plans to avoid material impacts to the program. With the complexities of this program, we seek to utilize Artificial Intelligence (AI) capabilities to mine out and highlight these impacts and mitigations for multiple level of stakeholders from senior leadership through project managers. We currently use Planview Portfolios for Schedule, Dependency, and RAID management and find the visualization capabilities and AI capabilities to be limited or under lengthy development timelines that do not meet our needs. We are also seeking layered visualization from strategic roadmaps to mid-level plans to detailed plans so that if a change is made at any level, the visuals change dynamically at all levels. Do you have any recommendations on a PPM tool(s) that might help us? Saving Changes...

Randi, I don't know how complex your program is, but I have been looking at a tool developed by NASA, you might give it a look too.

PPM tools can help you. For example MS Azure DevOps with Copilot. But in cases like dependencies, at least in my experience along too many years, it is a matter to human knowledge and experience. AI tools can help you but not in complex tasks. In this type of tasks, if you did not use it pointed out exactly what you are looking for just a complement, you will spend more time than making it by hand. Saving Changes...

I think that based on the requirements you have described, I would recommend considering the following project and portfolio management (PPM) tools that leverage AI capabilities to enhance dependency management, visualization, and proactive risk identification:
1. Planisware Orchestra: This PPM solution offers advanced AI-powered features like intelligent dependency mapping, risk analysis, and dynamic multi-level visualization. It integrates with various data sources and provides a comprehensive platform for program and portfolio management.
2. Microsoft Project for the Web with Power BI: While Microsoft's native PPM tools may have had limitations in the past, the latest cloud-based Project for the Web, combined with the data visualization capabilities of Power BI, can address your needs. The AI-driven features can help surface insights, identify risks, and manage dependencies.
3. Primavera Unifier by Oracle: Oracle's Primavera Unifier is a robust PPM solution with strong AI capabilities for risk management, dependency analysis, and multi-level visualization. It can integrate with various enterprise systems and provide a unified view of your program.
4. Mavenlink: This cloud-based PPM platform offers AI-powered features for resource management, task dependencies, and risk identification. Its dynamic visualization capabilities and integration with various data sources could be a good fit for your requirements.
5. Clarity by Broadcom: Formerly known as CA Clarity, this comprehensive PPM solution has been enhanced with AI capabilities for improved decision-making, resource allocation, and risk mitigation. Its integration with other Broadcom tools could provide a seamless experience.
I recommend evaluating these options based on your specific requirements, integration needs, and the overall vendor ecosystem fit within your organization. It's also worth considering the vendor's roadmap and the maturity of their AI-powered features to ensure they align with your program's timeline and objetivies.
