In my project management classes, I often refer to Figure 1.8 from the PMBOK Guide, Sixth Edition. This figure highlights the importance of core project documents like the Project Charter and Master Project Plan. I also emphasize that the Project Status Report and Project Closure Report are essential for effective project communication and completion. What other documents do you think are equally crucial for project documentation?

Francisco, this varies by project but I do find Risk Registers, Lessons Learned, Issue Logs are important documentation to maintain on every project.

Rami for better or for worse, I consider the risks in the second wave, but looking at it carefully, I would include them in the elements of a status report, just like the issues log, I will create a discussion about it, thank you!

Francisco -

If we focus on information rather than documents, we are likely to come up with something more universally applicable.

A very small, short, simple duration project might be fine with some evidence of authorization from the client or sponsor, something identifying the scope of work to be done, and something demonstrating that scope was delivered and accepted by stakeholders.

As complexity and scale increases, more is needed...

I agree with you Kiron that information should be adapted and adopted more than documents, thank you!
