Artificial Intelligence (AI) significantly enhances Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems by automating tasks, improving data analysis, and optimizing decision-making. AI reduces manual workload and errors in routine tasks like data entry and order management through automation. It aids proactive decision-making by forecasting trends and demand using predictive analytics. Enhanced data analysis capabilities allow AI to quickly process large volumes of data to identify patterns and insights. Natural Language Processing (NLP) enables intuitive user interactions via chatbots and virtual assistants, improving user experience. AI personalizes customer interactions and enhances service based on customer data, while also monitoring transactions to detect and mitigate threats, thereby improving security. In supply chain management, AI predicts demand and manages inventory efficiently. It provides real-time insights for informed decision-making and adjusts pricing strategies dynamically based on market conditions. Additionally, AI predicts equipment failures and schedules proactive maintenance, reducing downtime. By integrating AI, ERP systems become more efficient, agile, and competitive, driving better business outcomes.

SAP is using AI in their software from long long time ago. Perhaps you are talking to the new model of generative AI that emerges when Google published the Transformer architecture. In this case, you will find that SAP has delivered new versions of FieldGlass, Ariba, and other containing generative AI capabilities. Adding to that, tools like Copilot are generating ABAP code too. I know about other ERP are using generative AI too, like former MFG/Pro.
