We all know that generative AI (genAI) is set to impact almost every aspect of our daily lives in the coming months and years. While we often use outputs from current genAI solutions by OpenAI, Microsoft, Google, and Meta, it's important to acknowledge that these results cannot be completely relied upon. Prompt engineering can help achieve specific and detailed results, but as consumers, we must ensure that appropriate checks and balances are in place. Additionally, I believe that a standard governance model for generative AI will become mainstream in the coming years. Consequently, the role of a project manager might be seen as less specialized, leading to a decrease in demand for those who only possess conventional PM skills.
However, prompt engineering also presents opportunities for program managers, project managers, and PMOs to differentiate themselves and command higher value. By leveraging these advanced tools, PMs can focus on higher-level strategic tasks, such as stakeholder management, risk mitigation, and decision-making, which cannot be easily automated or always require human intelligence for decisions without clear right or wrong boundaries. The ability to integrate AI-driven insights with human judgment and experience can make PMs indispensable. Furthermore, those who can adeptly use prompt engineering to enhance team collaboration, innovation, and efficiency will be highly sought after.

Project managers who embrace these technologies and integrate them into their workflows can differentiate themselves, drive better project outcomes, and command higher value in their careers. In mi case, I've been trying some tools to Enhanced Efficiency and Productivity, to make summaries or automate routinary information to consolidated into someting easy to use for decition making, It als has helped me to Improved Communication and Collaboration, whener I've a doubt about the tone or the content of a document i've receive good results to my promts of how to improve them.
