Every breakthrough invention MUST have a story by which the invention was made/discovered. Someone who claims an invention but cannot provide a verifiable, with both historical and circumstantial evidence, is a FAKE. The historical and circumstantial evidence is the BLOCKCHAIN proof of evidence of the Real inventor. What do the Project managers in Agile R&D say, Agree or Disagree? Saving Changes...
How about inspiration such as how August Kekulé discovered the structure for the benzene molecule? While that example is not an invention, I'd have to believe there are inventions where someone was able to innovate without an incremental trail of trial and error.
However, outside of those scenarios, I'd agree that documenting the journey towards a breakthrough is key to claiming ownership of the breakthrough.

the story of August Kekulé’s discovery of the structure of the benzene molecule is a fascinating example of how inspiration can lead to innovation. It’s a reminder that sometimes, breakthroughs can occur in unexpected ways, outside the traditional path of incremental progress.
However, as you rightly pointed out, these instances are exceptions rather than the rule. In most cases, innovation is a result of a meticulous process of trial and error, where each step, no matter how small, brings us closer to the final breakthrough. Documenting this journey is indeed crucial, not just for claiming ownership, but also for understanding the process and potentially paving the way for future innovations.
In the end, whether it’s a sudden flash of insight or the result of persistent effort, every innovation contributes to our collective knowledge and pushes the boundaries of what’s possible. It’s the diversity of these approaches that makes the process of discovery and invention so exciting and rewarding.

even if inspiration is the source of an invention it has a story to it, that can be verified historically and contextually.
Just like the invention of the Internet including its www, was an inspiration as the source. As well as the GPS, and Pixels. Same for low orbit satellites internet.
