As the Construction Product Owner, I am thrilled to announce that the PMI-SCP was launched today! Here is the description you will see on the Construction landing page. Feel free to reach out to me with any questions!
Level up, build your expertise and demonstrate your advanced knowledge in construction project management by earning the PMI-SCP™. After first gaining the PMI-CP™, you’ll need to take three more skill-sharpening courses—self-paced to fit your schedule. Upon successful completion, you will receive a certificate of completion.
These advanced courses are designed for higher-level skill development for senior-level professionals. Each self-paced module is a 6-10 hour commitment. PDUs earned from these courses can be applied to certification renewals.
The PMI Construction Professional (PMI-CP)™ certification and PMI-CP™ capstone exam do not require completion of these courses—but if you have what it takes, you can move up to the next level and earn the PMI-SCP™.
The question I have is has this announcement changed your view of the Construction curriculum or has it enticed you to continue your journey? Let me know! Saving Changes...

My only question is why these three specific microcredits could elevate someone to a CP-"S"enior level. Perhaps an experience-based "S" would make more sense? For instance, a combination of ten years of work experience alongside a project management certification.
The intent of the PMI-SCP certificate of completion is to reinforce the importance of the 3 courses that were originally part of the CP certification but were removed as part of the streamlined version we subsequently released. There is still great content to be consumed after one attains the PMI-CP certification and we want to encourage that journey. The CP certification does come with a 3 year experience requirement, keep in mind. Saving Changes...
I recently obtained the PMI-CP™ certification (July 5, 2024) and had previously completed 7 courses under the older curriculum (requiring 7 courses).
I contacted PMI about the PMI-SCP™ process and was informed that it typically requires completing 3 additional advanced courses.
My question is: Is this the correct process for someone in my situation, where I already have the PMI-CP™ but completed the courses under the old curriculum? Are there any alternative paths to claim the PMI-SCP™?
Thanks in advance for your insights!

Vo, if you did complete 7 course along with the 3 micro-credentials then you should receive your PMI-SCP badge as far as I am aware.
Hi Vo:
The PMI-SCP certificate has been sent to you via email earlier today, July 17th. Since this designation is so new, we have not yet automated it into our system and it is handled manually at this point. Congratulations on this achievement! The Badges that will be awarded for this are currently being designed and will be available sometime in September. You will be notified at that time.
