Many companies have established new organisational structures where Project Managers / Project Management Office have less responsibilities and less career development, mine included.

My current workplace has laid off 10% of Project/Program managers early this year. There was a time when each line of business had a whole squad of PMs overseeing all the projects. But now, the product managers own the vendor management, portfolio, project budget...

What are your thoughts of pivoting your career path to product by leveraging PMP knowledge?

This is a transition that some companies, especially those that are mostly focused on product development are doing. I'd agree that if you wish to stay in the current company, adapting to such changes while continuing to leverage your PM skills is a good strategy. You might need to enhance your business analysis and business management skills to do so and would need to develop a lot more product knowledge.
