Validating and checking outputs is critical when working with AI systems like Generative AI. Such validation approaches may include establishing clear criteria, implementing strong testing protocols, and continuous refinement.

In your experience with AI, what are some best practices for ensuring the results you receive are accurate, relevant, and aligned with your original goals?

I agree pretty much with the above answers. From my experience, the key is being precise in your request, providing all available data and then refining and iterating the answers.

When using AI systems, clearly define your goals and provide precise, well-structured prompts to reduce ambiguity. Cross-check results with trusted sources or domain expertise to verify accuracy. Iterate by refining inputs based on outputs, and remain aware of potential biases or limitations in the AI model.

Great question! To get accurate and relevant results from AI, it’s crucial to start with clear, specific prompts that reflect your goals. Iterating on prompts based on the AI’s responses helps fine-tune outcomes. Also, providing enough context ensures the AI understands the bigger picture, especially when project objectives change.

Don’t forget to validate AI outputs with your own knowledge or trusted sources—AI should support, not replace, human judgment. Using advanced prompting techniques like ReAct or Chain-of-Thought can also boost alignment and adaptability.

Ultimately, keeping your goals front and center and treating AI as a collaborative tool makes all the difference in getting results that truly add value

A lot of relevant answers and discussion points are already provided by many experineced PMs. THis is a great discussion forum and helps to learn faster with different perspectives. The methods described in the training course has most of the answers - following a formulas, using patterns, giving right context etc.

one thing i feel is we need to be aware how latest is the LLM that we are using. When was it last trained on. If its not upto the date you are looking for, it may not the answers.

Understanding the human input is essential, I always ensure to cross check all responses from.AI

The best way to determine if the information is valid is to request source material from the AI system. Or if material is not available, then add the source material yourself to ensure you are providing the AI system with the most current information available with respect to your project. Finally, take the time to actually read the AI response with a critical eye. When we talk to our co-workers we are actively participating in the conversation and we should also actively participate in our conversation with AI, and sometimes that means we ask clarifying questions or provide additional information to ensure both our co-worker and AI co-worker have all the relevant information.

By giving AI the needed examples and correct prompt, I am able to get the needed output for my next project.

Be clear and specific with prompts (define context, constraints, and goals).

Iterate and refine prompts based on results.

Cross-check accuracy against trusted sources or data.

Use critical judgment — treat outputs as a starting point, not final truth.

Align with goals by asking, “Does this support my objective or just sound good?"

Being specific with the prompts. I agree with prompting with persona and expected outcomes and formats yield the most useful results.

The most important is to be specific and always use the RTF method; in this way i reduce no desired outputs. Also, is very important providing context to align the information i want to recieve.
