Validating and checking outputs is critical when working with AI systems like Generative AI. Such validation approaches may include establishing clear criteria, implementing strong testing protocols, and continuous refinement.

In your experience with AI, what are some best practices for ensuring the results you receive are accurate, relevant, and aligned with your original goals?

I usually start with a persona phrase then use subsequent statements to drill and refine the output. I check the sources identified by the AI agent to ensure accuracy and relevance.

First, I need to have a good idea of what the output I am expecting should look like and establish parameters for acceptance. Next, I will use the appropriate prompt formula, request for sources used by the system to generate its responses. Then I will keep iterating my prompt in order to achieve the expected optimal output.

To get accurate and relevant results from AI, clearly state your goal and what you want the output to achieve. Provide enough context so the system understands your situation, audience, and purpose. Specify the desired format, length, and structure to shape the response. Indicate the tone or style, such as formal, casual, or technical, to match your needs. When accuracy matters, ask for sources, assumptions, or ways to verify the information. Refine the output through follow-up prompts, since iteration improves results. Avoid vague or ambiguous requests that lead to generic answers. Finally, cross-check critical information and set clear constraints to keep the response aligned with your objectives.

For years, I have witnessed how project management in construction remains fragmented — limited by disconnected systems and the lack of a truly intelligent companion to support teams in real time.

That reflection inspired the concept of the Intelligent Project Management Assistant (iPMA) — a new AI-driven system designed to learn from project data, assist decision-making, and synchronise every stakeholder through voice-enabled devices and a shared cloud workspace.

Each project would have its own dedicated cloud site, seamlessly connecting engineers, managers, and clients — much like a playlist in today’s streaming platforms. The Assistant would adapt to each project’s unique context, ensuring that information flows naturally and intelligently across disciplines.
This concept aims to redefine how construction projects are managed — turning fragmented data into actionable knowledge, and human expertise into collaborative intelligence.

I would welcome the opportunity to collaborate with forward-thinking organisations such as Burns & McDonnell, Ontario Power Generation, or PMI Infinity App whose commitment to digital transformation and innovation could help bring this vision to life.

If you share this belief in a smarter, more connected future for project management, I invite you to connect.

Rephase prompts and suggest a better question and always ask AI to site it's sources.

Establish verification, validation, and sanity checklist. Cross reference with reliable source or SMEs

Working with AI, the best way to obtain what I'm looking for in the response is giving parameters, goal, hole and persona. Always putting a mask of wich profession AI should be driven answers get better and stimulating AI to do questions if the original prompt is not enough to have good answers. I've never asked for proving sources, but I think this could auxiliate

Maybe provide a clear and precise input (question) to get a more accurate answers. Validate the AI answers and iterate as needed. Provide also a clear context and include a comprehensive info related to provide a clear picture, as the AI answers based on our inputs.

To ensure AI results are accurate, relevant, and aligned with your goals, start by clearly defining your objective, audience, and constraints before crafting a detailed, structured prompt with sufficient context. Specify the desired format and depth, and ask the AI to surface assumptions, reasoning, and alternative perspectives to reduce blind spots and confirmation bias. Treat outputs as a first draft—iterate, refine, and independently validate any critical facts or high-stakes information. Protect sensitive data, and use AI as a decision-support tool rather than a replacement for human judgment. The key is disciplined input, critical evaluation, and thoughtful integration into your workflow.
