¿What do you think about virtual meetings using avatars?

Virtual meetings can use avatars as digital representations of team members.  ¿Would you be comfortable if an avatar replaces your image or goes even further having an AI-programmed avatar according to your preferences,  that has conversations and responds to questions just like you?

I would not have any concern with an avatar replacing my image. It's easier to recognize quickly than a name.

I would have no confidence that a digital representation of myself would respond to questions just like me. In that case, it's not even a team. It's just individually tailored chat bots interacting with each other.

I love this question. I would be, and am, very comfortable with an avatar (or Avi) replacing me. It’s one of the best ways to infuse some fun and gentle playfulness into our work days. Sure, the camera is great for face-to-face interactions in a remote environment. Avis are too!

In the gaming world, Avis are extensions of who we are and your avi’s purpose is to represent you in the virtual world. With that in mind, I think the avatars (like the ones in Zoom and MS Teams) are a fun way to keep folks engaged, and they provide an alternative to the camera which can be uncomfortable at times.

If I had control of what it said/did, I’d be totally fine with an animated AI avi representing me too!
