With Generative AI, iteratively refining and optimizing prompts can lead to better AI-generated results. This may involve adjusting the specificity or clarity of the prompt to increase relevance and accuracy of results.

What examples do you have of how improving a prompt drastically changed the output quality?  What specific changes did you make that led to the improvement?

For me at least, improving my prompting capabilities is a process, not a quick fix. Therefore, I feel that the word "drastically" is a bit too strong in this context. But for sure, that is the goal to achieve, and therefore mastering promting is something worth investing in.

Tend to agree with your response Katalin. Sometime after several iteration the response is acceptable, since the data we have access to is limited.

Chaining prompts created highly valuable outcome when I tried to extract information relevant to my project's communication plan!

This has opened a great window of opportunities for me writing professional prompts. I used to guess, but now there is confidence and a pattern to follow.

All I'm learning now shows that AI is not some magic wand somewhere. It's still like the old computer science saying "garbage in, garbage out". With that, I pay good attention to the prompts I write, because your prompt will determine the quality of your answer.

The refinement of a prompt depends greatly on the additional information provided. These added details remain essential, and as individuals, we must continuously enhance our skills in crafting effective prompts to ensure clarity and relevance in the desired output.

With generative AI making adjustments to the prompt changes the outcome, a more concise response is provided. Throughout the training it is mentioned that generative AI may "hallucinate" and provide incorrect information. This can be limited by being more concise and breaking down information more.

Providing feedback to generative AI teaches it to come up with more spot on responses to your queries. In this senses, the classic GIGO mnemonic might as well apply to generative AI albeit this time it's really the quality of the prompt that is the focal point.
