With Generative AI, iteratively refining and optimizing prompts can lead to better AI-generated results. This may involve adjusting the specificity or clarity of the prompt to increase relevance and accuracy of results.

What examples do you have of how improving a prompt drastically changed the output quality?  What specific changes did you make that led to the improvement?

I've been reluctant to use AI for security purposes but seeing what examples of potential outcomes, especially when refining prompts, really makes me want to try it now for all of my projects.

I got better at prompts by practicing and reference through different courses and material available on internet. Spend time in analyzing the output for two reasons
1. to validate the accuracy of the output
2. to refine to make it more authentic

A well-crafted prompt reduces ambiguity and allows you to ensure the LLM understands exactly what is being asked. The more we refine our prompts the more we will lead the model in order to get accurate, relevant, and coherent responses.

Refining a prompt changes the output quality by eliminating undesirable responses that stem from vague or unstructured prompts, outdated model knowledge, reliance on AI assumptions, conflicting requests or prompt overloading

Refining a prompt significantly impacts the output quality in GenAI by enhancing clarity and specificity, which guides the AI to generate more accurate and relevant responses. For example, a vague prompt like "Tell me about plants" might yield a general and unfocused response. However, refining it to "Explain the photosynthesis process in green plants" directs the AI to provide detailed and pertinent information about photosynthesis. Precise prompts reduce ambiguity, improve context understanding, and lead to outputs that better meet the user's expectations. This iterative refinement is crucial for leveraging AI capabilities effectively.

Provide sufficient information to build the right content is critical to achieve the desired result. However, using frameworks such as RTF helps to create a clear structure for AI to begin its work. Decomposing the tasks into smaller sub tasks that are built on and refine after each response will also improve output quality as it eliminates ambiguity that may arise from overloading the ask in one instruction. Putting it simply, treat AI the same way you would a colleague, provide clear context, define the task(s) and break them down as much as possible and provide feedback on each response to generate better responses for the following prompts.

This course has taught me how to refine my prompts for better outcomes. I wish i reviewed this course earlier. I will be getting my hands wet with all the LLMs out there and of course ethically, secure and in a compliant manner.
