With Generative AI, iteratively refining and optimizing prompts can lead to better AI-generated results. This may involve adjusting the specificity or clarity of the prompt to increase relevance and accuracy of results.

What examples do you have of how improving a prompt drastically changed the output quality?  What specific changes did you make that led to the improvement?

For me, refining a prompt has been the difference between a usable response that can be taken to production and a mediocre response that requires more prompting.

It usually provides more directly useful information.

Given it more context specific to your purpose and iterate by providing more examples, tone, and format while discussing human-to-human with GenAi

Increasing specifity and more context leads to more accurate and refined results/output. I am not familiar with the diverse frameworks provided by Sergio Luis Conte; speaking to GenAI engine as I would speak to another human (thus, providing context and sufficient level of detail) provides great outputs.
I normally run the prompt a couple of times until it gives me optimal results. While doing so, I refine the prompt every time and add any information which was missed out earlier. This way, I see a drastic improvement in the result.

In my experience with generative AI, there's always been a need for feedback to reformulate the response, whether to make the result more complete or to improve the presentation of the data. However, there have been cases where the response was incorrect, and with my immediate feedback, the AI reformulated the response, adjusting the section that needed correction. This behavior is aligned with the Chain of Feedback pattern. Over time, I've observed that this practice of providing feedback to the model and observing the differences in responses improves our ability to interact and get the most out of the tool.

Refinement changed the output to totally another point of view with respect to details and output clarity.

In my experience, refining a prompt can make a huge difference in the quality of GenAI outputs. Even small changes—like adding more context, clarifying the desired format, or specifying the tone—can transform a vague or generic response into something highly relevant and actionable.

I’ve found that iterative prompt refinement not only improves accuracy but also helps the AI better understand complex project nuances. It’s like having a conversation where each adjustment gets you closer to exactly what you need. This process really highlights how important prompt engineering is for unlocking the full potential of GenAI in project management.
