If it is within the one year period of eligibility and is one of your three attempts to pass, then it will be a reduced fee (relative to the original fees). The exact amount will vary by region, so you should contact PMI Customer Care to get that info. If it is past the one year period, then you'd have to re-pay the same amount as your original application.

Kiron, this is interesting. Where is it written that the re-examination, if within three years, will be at a reduced price from the original? I thought Id ask you instead of digging into the documents. Thanks in advance!

I meant during the initial year which the candidate has for writing the exam. PMI themselves doesn't provide the cost info, but when I did an online search for that, I did find multiple sites that indicated a lower re-examination cost, but of course, PMI Customer Care would be the right source of this info...

Thanks, Kiron. This is interesting and good to know because as far as I am aware, the re-examination fee is the same as the original exam fee but looks like this might not be accurate. The only thing that the certifications handbook mention is: "Reexamination fees apply to the second and third attempts to pass the examination" so it would be interesting to know if the reexamination is at a reduced fee or not.
