Hi, there. I have a question related to ScrumBan. Currently we use Scrum ceremonies and a Kanban board to organize our team's work and delivery process. We do not follow fixed iterations, which are used in both Scrum and ScrumBan. Therefore, the only aspect of Scrum we use are the meetings. I would like to ask whether I can correctly refer to this hybrid model as ScrumBan

I would say no since Scrumban is a hybrid framework integrating specific parts of both Kanban and Scrum and you have your own hybrid of the parts you wish to use.

On the other hand, whether you want to use the term but redefine the meaning for your own needs, or call it something entirely different, who cares what it's called unless you are marketing your specific solution? I would personally call it something like Scrumban-lite to denote it is a hybrid of a hybrid solution.

Why put a label on a way of working which works for your team? Over time, that way of working will continue to evolve - for example, you might find that daily standups are unnecessary as the team prefers to coordinate their work in real time.

Scrumban, as its name suggests, is a hybrid methodology that integrates key elements of Scrum and Kanban. This unique combination makes it an attractive option for teams looking for a flexible and adaptable approach to project management.

Absolutely. Scrumban is a flexible methodology that blends elements of Scrum and Kanban, allowing teams to customize their processes based on their specific needs. Here's why your approach fits within the Scrumban framework:

Scrum Elements: You are using Scrum ceremonies (meetings) which are a core part of Scrum.
Kanban Elements: You utilize a Kanban board to organize work and manage workflow.
Lack of Fixed Iterations: Scrumban often does not follow fixed iterations like traditional Scrum; instead, it focuses on continuous delivery and flow.

Your approach, combining Scrum meetings with a Kanban board and without fixed iterations, aligns well with the principles of Scrumban.
