Henrique,
I would remove the term “AI” from the immediate discussion and instead focus on the feature and function needs of the team (e.g., a feature/function matrix), ranking those needs to provide an objective understanding of what you collectively wish to target (e.g., service provider choice).
Recognize that service provider references to AI may be nothing more than marketing hyperbole, based on the loose definition of AI being “An application, service, or device purposed to perform a scope of tasks that typically requires a human.”
If you're going to manage the team decision then what would you recommend since that will be your plan? Go in with a proposal rather than a plan to mediate open discussion.
Help steer them to the right decision by proposing a solution as a starting point based on what you know. They may bring in reasons why that is not preferable from their perspective, but then you can tailor the solution for what is the best compromise.
The alternative is that people can spend a lot of time complaining about the problem that could be better spent finding the right solution. Saving Changes...

To find a solution, you can use the design thinking approach 'double diamond'. It consists of two distinct spaces (diamonds): the problem and solution spaces.
First, you define the problem by finding as many factors as possible through divergent thinking. Then, the team uses convergent thinking to agree on a single problem statement. It's important to remember that in 50% of the cases, the problem might vanish during this process, offering hope for a resolution (It is better to dissolve a problem than to solve it - Ackoff).
Second, you search for many solutions for the problem, create a list, prioritize it, and select the candidate the team likes most. Test it. Decide on it.

Is not about to select an AI approach. In fact, there is not Ai approach in AI. The key is to analyze the value stream, define the solution chain for that value stream, and then you can decide, for that solution chain, where to use Ai or not in order to make the value stream efficient to optimize things like time to market of lead time. That´s the key. Saving Changes...
