I finished a PMP exam prep course from PM Training and still have access to their mock exams. I am definitely not ready today to take the exam but have scheduled it for mid-November leaving just under 3 months to study. The majority of my issues are with the Planning topic area and the Process domain.

Can anyone recommend additional guides/books aside from the PMBOK and Agile Practice Guide to help me understand these topics better?

Hi Stephanie,

I'd recommend some video material to supplement your reading. Udemy, for example, has a recommended course:
PMP Certification Exam Prep Course 35 PDU Contact Hours/PDU

Worth checking out.
Good luck with your exam.
3 months is more than enough time, so don't worry and good luck!

Stephanie, in your case, this is what I recommend you do (aside from the PMBOK and Agile Guide):

1) Go through Rita Mulchay’s Exam Prep book, I think its 11th edition now, but double check. This is one of the best resources for exam preparation and will help you deeply understand all topics.

2) After you are done, purchase the Simulator Package through PM Prep Cast and practice as much as you can. This is a great simulator and resource for questions that mimic the real exam and will boost your confidence the more you practice.

Hope this helps. Good Luck!

I agree with Rami's recommendation. I used Rita's book (I think it was the 8th edition when I took my PMP) and purchased the PrepCast simulator for my preparation. It was worth every dime! All the best, Stephanie Trzyna!

Congrats on finishing your PMP exam prep course!
With almost 2 months left, you have a good amount of time to get ready.

Here are some extra resources that might help with Planning and Process topics:
1. "Rita Mulcahy's PMP Exam Prep" : This book is popular because it explains things in a way that’s easy to understand.
2. "Head First PMP" : This book uses pictures and examples to make things clearer. It’s great if you like learning visually.
3. "PMP Exam Prep Simplified" by Andrew Ramdayal : This is a straightforward guide that focuses on key points for the exam. Andrew also has helpful videos on YouTube.
4. "PMP Pocket Prep" App : This app lets you practice PMP questions anywhere, which can be useful during your breaks.
5. Practice Tests : Keep using the mock exams you have. They’re great for finding out where you need to improve. Review your mistakes and study those areas more.

6. Optional : Joining a study group or online forums can give you extra support and tips from others who are also preparing for the exam.

Finally, try to create a study plan that focuses on Planning and Process. Don’t forget to review the Agile Practice Guide, as it’s important for the exam.

Good luck!
