The latest course in the Construction Curriculum is now available - “Digital Construction Practitioner”. This course was co-developed by PMI and Oracle. This eLearning course covers how to leverage the latest trend in construction technology—the intelligent platform— to manage a project from inception to completion. Our product team are excited to hear your feedback. In this course you will learn:

1. How the digitization of construction data can simplify the construction world.
2. The various tools available on the Smart platform.
3. To simulate the data flow through the tools and understand how it can be used for project performance and reporting.

Let us know what you think!
1. Oracle’s tools are the de facto standard in the construction industry. I would love to hear about your experience using them, successes you have had and any challenges you might have encountered. Can you please share?

2. How mature are your organizations in utilizing various PMIS tools? Have any of you been able to utilize Artificial Intelligence in your projects?

Bob, this is by far the best PMI course I've ever taken - Great Effort. It is very well-structured, the videos and practical application to the different Oracle software components was very helpful and added lots of value. This course is a great candidate for a Live Instructor-Led course with a project to be submitted at the end of the course by attendees.

That said, if during the course, candidates can have access to a trial version of the Oracle Software to create their own project and apply all the learnings, that would take the course to the next level to maximize on the learnings from the course (Something to consider in the future).

At our current organization, due to the nature of what we do as consultants, we do not use lots of Oracle related PMIS tools but with my previous employer, we did use Primavera P6 and I can attest that this program is a beast especially for schedueling, and resource optimization.

I enjoyed the course and the structure of it, videos and walkthrough. While I have used and enjoy the Oracle platform I do believe that there are a lot of other good PMIS that can be utilized for creating a successful project delivery. I will say that I felt part of the course felt more of a sales pitch to utilize the software, vs the importance of PMIS and the value they provide . I believe organizations in the built enviornment should find a PMIS system that works best for the way they do buisness. This may require a blend of a few PMIS systems for the best results from their teams. Overall as technology platforms grow in the industry Organizations will have to continue to monitor and gauge what aspects they can utilize and leverage to remain competitive in the industry.

1. Oracle definitely has a large portion of the industry especially certain aspects of their platform such as Primavera 6. My experience has been good with Oracle however what I have found is historically companies have to pay for updates to the software , so many times organizations may not be working on the latest and greatest that is advertised . As far as PMIS go there are a variety of other platforms utilized by the top ENR firms in the US such as Procore, CMIC, Building connected ect.. that offer similar value.

2.My current and past organizations have used a variety of different PMIS tools and many of the current PMIS on the market offer AI .
