Interesting. You ask for a rational solution for a hassle. Maybe irrational / intuitive / indirect decisions help even better.

If you do not know what will exactly hit you, improve your resilience, making your supply side redundant, modular, and diverse. And behave prudently, scanning your environment and expanding your connections.
