Hello - I have 15+ years experience as an executive in the manufacturing sector and in this second chapter of my career, feel "called" to public service. I'm located in Canada, where we have public health care primarily. I feel as if I can contribute to the improvement of health care via my transferrable experience and skills (PMP, Lean Six Sigma Master Black Belt) and education. Any tips or advice on how to get my foot in the door with the local hospital network postings or government roles to emphasize that I may not have direct healthcare experience, but that my skills could add value? (especially without having to step backwards in my career) Where to start? Applying for jobs seems to be getting me nowhere. Thanks!!! Saving Changes...
You may have better success working in the quality management program within a healthcare organization to start than directly as a PM as the latter will require sufficient domain expertise whereas the latter could immediately benefit from your LSS expertise in being able to harness the wisdom of clinician SMEs to improve operational excellence.
