Why do I have more connections here than on LinkedIn? How do you build your Network?

I noticed that I have over 10K connections here, but on LinkedIn, where I actively network, explore job opportunities, read articles... I have less than 5K. It got me thinking—how do you approach building your professional network?

Do you actively reach out, spam inboxes, or focus on meaningful connections? What strategies have worked best for you to grow your LinkedIn presence? Is there a way to ensure that all incredible people that I connected here is also in my LinkedIn network.

Curious to hear your thoughts!

Mayte, for your information, Do you know more exciting things? Most of the connections on LinkedIn are with PMP holders. When I passed the PMP exam, I had been sending a request to the PMP holder. The request accepting percentage was 80%. Now, I have 10 K+.

Great question. Like others have mentioned, I also take a different approach to networking here and on LinkedIn. Here, I accept all connection requests, while on LinkedIn, I take the time to review profiles more carefully. I've developed a kind of "sixth sense" for identifying individuals who send connection requests on LinkedIn only to follow up with commercial or promotional messages. However, I’ve rarely encountered spamming on projectmanagement.com.
