Hey everyone,
I recently took the PMP exam, and my score was canceled due to "irregularities" detected during the exam. I completed the exam without any issues or warnings. I contacted Pearson VUE, and they confirmed that there were no problems reported on their side. Has anyone experienced something similar? How did you resolve it?

I would assume that you did the exam online, not in a testing center. I suggest reaching out to PMI customer care so they connect you to the right department. This is your best course of action for now since Pearson Vue said there were no issues.

I had the same issue although I had my exam at test center last Wednesday and received a printed report after the exam that I passed successfully.
I appeaIed but got denied with a strange forensics analysis claim, I replied that I disagree with the decision and that I will retake the 2nd only if it's free of charge without paying any fees, and I'm waiting for their reply.

This may be algorithmic decision. I suggest you write the exam at Pearson Vue center rather than online, and that you, ask Rami suggests, reaach out to PMI Customer Care first to explain the situation. They may allow a second (in persont) writing, and may waive the second fee depending on circumstances. Saving Changes...

Hello,
My friend faced the same issue. However, they refused to release the exact reasons. So, he said that he scored high score and finished the exam early (around 100 min left). Did you do the same? I suspect that if you did well in the exam and finished very quickly they will think that you have exposed the exam questions before you take it.
what do you think brother?

l faced the exact same issue as you. Could you please share with me what happened in the end with your case?
My problem is i took my first attempt in the center , and due to the bad environment , i raise a case explain that i cant focus and after one weak of waiting i get a release to retake the exam for free , after that i retake the exam and iam sure that i passed above target , unfortunately i received an email that the exam was cancelled due to the irregularity
i will raise another case , but i think this is because i complain the center that the environment is not fit to proceed and focus and concentrate on the exam Saving Changes...

Hi All, I took exam online without having any issues while taking exam and everything went well but I got email stating that my score was canceled due to "irregularities" detected during the exam. I completed the exam without any issues or warnings. Is there any use if we appeal or do we need to retake the exam(my concern is to pay fee). If they allow me to take free exam, I am ok to take exam in test center. This is so frustrating with no reason they are cancelling the scores.
Please suggest me on how to proceed with the next steps.
Thank you. Saving Changes...

I took the exam online without any issues during the session. The only request from (before the start of the exam) the examiner was to remove a few items from my table, which I did and showed on camera. There were no irregularities, and everything went smoothly. Later, I received an email stating that my score was canceled due to "irregularities" detected during the exam. This was extremely surprising and frustrating, as I completed the exam without any issues or warnings. As per the email, I am now required to wait 45 days to retake the exam (as strongly recommended to avoid being flagged again for irregularities). This means I will have to invest additional time, effort, and money. This is particularly challenging given my professional and family responsibilities. I believe this decision is unfair. Can someone please advise me on where to file a formal complaint to have this decision reassessed? The exam session was recorded, and I am confident that a review of the recordings will confirm my adherence to all rules and procedures.

hello dear,
I encountered the same scenario as you. I had my test on Friday, and received an email yesterday stating that they cancel my score due to misconduct.
I was sure that i did very good in the exam, after more than two months of preparation, and the examination process was smooth with no issues nor irregularities.
yesterday I sent email to appeal the decision, but as I am seeing multiple post with the same case, no change is made regarding their score and they had to retake the exam.
As for your case what was the final decision, and is there any possibility that that pmi reconsider cancelling the score.
thank you

Hi everyone,
I’m facing a very similar and frustrating situation.
I took my first PMP exam online on March 17, 2025, followed all rules, and received no warnings during the session — yet my score was later cancelled without any explanation. I contacted PMI multiple times and even offered to do an interview or provide any verification needed, but received no clarification.
Following PMI’s guidance, I waited 45 days, paid again, and took the exam at a trusted test center on June 14, 2025. I passed and received the printed "Passed" confirmation at the center — and again, days later, I was shocked to receive another score cancellation!
This has been devastating and is affecting my career. I have appealed by email, contacted support and chat, and even reached out to leadership, but I’m still waiting for resolution.
I’m sharing my story here in the hope that PMI will acknowledge these repeated cases and offer a fair resolution. If anyone has successfully resolved a similar issue, please share how.
