I am working in a huge Business Transformation which is going through a bumpy ride. Thought every transformation is unique, this is what, I think, we could have done better which also applies to most of such cases -
- Initiated people centric initiatives in early tranches of the program to garner and foster support, reception and transmission
- Establish and harness capabilities of a Transformation Management office which could eventually merge PMO in itself

It sounds like TMOs would champion organizational change management. At least, what you suggest as part of its mandate certainly aligns with OCM.
I don't think many of us have had much experience with TMOs. Let us know how it works for you guys and what are the pain points. Saving Changes...
