Does your organization have a Project Accountant or just an Accountant who does Project accounting?

Most of the companies I have worked with have neither. If the financials complexity and workload goes beyond what the PM can handle then they might seek assistance from someone from the company's finance team, but that is the exception, not the rule.

In my previous companies and experiences, this wasn't the case, but this semester we Project and Program Managers have been tasked with budget management. I hope this role becomes more standardized in the future. Considering this new responsibility Kwiyuh, what roles and responsibilities do you think a Project Manager should have?
