I would like to obtain my PMP certification, but I have a diploma from France, which is a professional bachelor's degree in water management. Is this diploma recognized and eligible for the PMP? If so, I understand that I need 35 hours of training, as I have already acquired the 3 years of experience. Could you please confirm this for me?

If you have a degree, you need only three years of experience managing projects.

Whether your diploma will be accepted as a degree is another question. The PMI.org site references it this way: "Bachelor's degree or higher (or global equivalent)".

You can apply once you have your 35 "contact hours". You can start the application any time as it is saved, then you can complete once you are ready. Many people attend a PMP Study Group to get their contact hours and these are often offered by your local PMI chapter. If you are approved to sit the exam, you have a year to study for it, schedule and write it.

For the official word on applying to write the PMP exam, check out the PMI website's PMP section here:

Project Management Professional (PMP)® Certification | PMI

Good luck!

P.S. - If you are not eligible to write the PMP exam due to a lack of PM experience, you might consider writing the Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM)® Certification exam, then once you have the required experience, applying to write the PMP exam.

Nastasia, I totally agree with Mike's response. For the 35 Educational hours, check Joseph Phillips courses on Udemy. He is an approved ATP and his courses are great and or a reasonable fee. Good Luck!
