I took some training on Technology Leadership from UC Berkeley with a focus on Digital Transformation and Artifical Intelligence and I'm currently undertaking the new certificate program CPMAI (Cognitive Project Management for AI). How can I apply what I'm learning in real practical AI transformative projects in organizations?

Maybe can start by identifying key areas within your organization where AI can enhance efficiency or innovation, such as automating repetitive tasks, improving customer experiences, or optimizing decision-making processes. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to assess current workflows and identify pain points that AI can address. Develop pilot projects that align with strategic goals, ensuring you incorporate agile methodologies for iterative improvement. Finally, focus on change management by engaging stakeholders, providing training, and fostering a culture of continuous learning to ensure successful adoption and integration of AI solutions.

AI is a board term. AI is using in the world and projects which some component of AI are running for 30 years ago or more. The break is when the new model of generative AI appeared in 2017. This type of projects involves new things like Responsible AI. My recommendation is taking a closer look to PMI´s free courses because they are a good source to answer your question. Just take into acount that those courses are related to GenAI.

Hi Ivonne Mejia I would suggest starting to explore areas in your projects which can be simplified with AI. For example, there might be cases when templates may have to be made frequently. In this case Gen AI or PMI Infinity can help within seconds, of course with the right prompts. Then, there are several PM tools available on the market which has AI options integrated into them. Personally, I find them really helpful because it quickly drafts up a format or an outline around which we can work.

I agree with this suggestion. Currently, my organization has not authorized the use of AI in our workflows. So I have used my personal ChatGPT account to generate format drafts and templates for some of our common tasks. For example, requirements gathering / clarification that I can use when engaging with our customers. It seems simple but the more opportunities to interact with these platforms and "perfect" effective prompts, the more efficient the outputs will be.

I have put AI into making my own life easy and it's helping me a lot in shrinking my consulting workflow with automation, getting my drafts ready etc.

Maybe change perspectives.
We tend to seek for problems where we can apply our new knowledge/solutions. Instead, we can identify problems that are relevant and consider solving them, taking into account our new knowledge.
