Issue with the Exam Center

Hi all!

I recently got my PMP certificate, and even if I am very grateful to have reached my goal I cannot but be concerned about my experience at the exam center.

In overall the personnel was very limited and visibly struggling with processing all the candidates (various exams) for the day. I don't consider this an issue as it can happen. What I am really concerned about is what happened during my first scheduled break.

As per process, I got my passport and left the room to drink some water. Once out I could not locate the TA. That was the case with other candidates who were already out and visibly searching for her. A few minutes later, the TA appeared and checked us out (already some time lost). We gained access to the break room and once we were ready to go back the TA was again nowhere to be found. For several minutes we were trying to reach anyone to help as the break time eventually was over and we could still not access the exam room.

The TA appeared after we got a TA from another exam group to text her several times. By the time she was back I was lucky to only have lost in total one minute. The candidates who were out of the room before me lost much more. For myself, it took time to be able to regain concentration after the experience and as a result I skipped my second break entirely to avoid this happening again.

At the end of the day I passed my exam, however I am concerned about others having the same experience in this center. It's a great pity to have so much effort be compromised in such a manner. Should I have this officially reported to the PMI? Or considering an one-off and never look back?

Thank you for your advice!

As far as I know, after completing the exam at a PMI test center, there is typically a feedback survey provided. You can use that to share your experience and concerns. Of course, you can also directly contact PMI if you feel it's necessary, but personally, I believe this issue is more related to the operations at the test center itself. Keep in mind that test centers often handle exams from various vendors, not just PMI certifications.

Congratulations again on passing your exam, and I hope this helps!

Athina -

Congratulations on the PMP!

This sounds like a specific test center issue so I would suggest starting with Pearson VUE customer service first before going to PMI.

Athina, congratulations on your achievement!

This is great feedback but I would agree with Kiron in that maybe addressing this constructive feedback to PV customer care would be a good first step!

Good job on still accomplishing the PMP certificate.
Despite being locked out, you were well/overly prepared regardless of the distractions.

By any chance you're pursuing another certification?
