Specioza, sorry to hear that but don't get discouraged. Here is what I suggest you do:

1) If you'd want to take another course, then check Joseph Phillips courses on Udemy. He is a PMI ATP, a great instructor and his courses are self-paced and very affordable.

2) Besides PMI Study resources and guides (Exam Content Outline in details, PMBOK 6th and Agile Extension or the 7th Edition and Process Groups Guides), I highly recommend you purchase Rita Mulchay’s CAPM Exam Prep book, I think 5th edition is the latest, but double check. This is one of the best resources for exam preparation.

3) After you are done, purchase the Simulator Package through PM Prep Cast and practice as much as you can. This is a great CAPM simulator and resource for questions that mimic the real exam.

Hope this helps - Let me know if you have further questions - Good Luck!

Hi Specioza, It can be challenging not to achieve your goal on the first try but always remember that “Failure is the mother of success.” Fortunately, in your case, it’s not a failure; it’s just a delayed success.

Some tips which may help:

1. Watch Ricardo Vargas' CAPM Exam Prep video on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HVlrxOQoSUw&ab_channel=RicardoVargas

2. Watch Alvin the PM's CAPM Exam Prep Question and Answer videos (playlist): https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=2WFLciWplOI&list=PLECUE3N79UzOQfyqRMt4i6-cofugGnQM7&ab_channel=AlvinthePM-BecomeaCertifiedProjectManager

3. Watch Andrew Ramdayal's video with 50 CAPM exam questions: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gwPjidwEWik&ab_channel=AndrewRamdayal

4. Incorporate Mock Exams from processexam.com in your study plan
Best of luck!
Hi Specioza, Sorry to hear that. As I was told by my PMI instructor here in Iraq, you need to study PMBOK 6 too. 7 alone is not enough. Good luck on your next try!

I'm really sorry to hear about your disappointment, but please don’t let this setback define your journey. Failing doesn’t mean you’re not capable—it just means there’s more to learn and refine. The fact that you studied diligently using the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition and took a course shows your dedication, and that’s a strong foundation to build on.

Take a moment to reflect, regroup, and identify areas where you may need more focus. Consider these next steps:

Review Your Exam Results: Pinpoint the knowledge areas where you struggled. This will help you tailor your study plan more effectively.
Expand Your Study Resources: Complement the PMBOK Guide 7th Edition with other resources, such as mock exams, study groups, or additional courses that align with the CAPM exam outline.
Practice, Practice, Practice: Focus on taking timed mock exams to build confidence and improve time management during the actual test.
Keep the Bigger Picture in Mind: Failing doesn’t erase the hard work you’ve put in—it’s just a stepping stone toward eventual success. Many successful professionals have faced similar challenges and come out stronger.

Remember, resilience is one of the key traits of great project managers. Use this experience as motivation to push forward, and when you pass the next time, your achievement will feel even more rewarding. You’ve got this—keep believing in yourself! 💪
