Does anyone have any idea of what reporting tool I should use for resource management for an interim? I am helping my resource manager to find an inexpensive reporting tool which must be compatible with MS Project 2000. The tool that we are currently looking is called Project Resource Planner by Technology Associates. It is the tool that my manager wants exactly! But unfortunately, it is not compatible with either MS Project 98 or 2000. I am wondering whether there are any tools out there which may shares similar functionalies as Project Resource Planner and it's integrable with MS Project 2000?

Pls note that we need this inexpensive tool for interim use only before our company rolls out the company-wide ERP system which will carry the resource management component at the end of this year.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Sounds very similar to what I'm also faced with. Our enterprise solution is a little further out then that, however our current requirement is similar.

Specifically, I'm interested to know if there is a companion tool to MS Project that will enable us to produce Histograms that are roll-ups (e.g. by resource type - programmer, etc.). Currently MS Project only produces Histograms on a per person basis, and we need to produce histograms in groups or roll ups.

We too are looking for an inexpensive interim solution.

Perhaps someone could comment on Gigaplan, eLabor, or Project Control?
