Governance and Innovation
This post sheds light on the delicate balance between Governance and Innovation. Governance, while crucial for establishing regulatory frameworks, can sometimes restrain Innovation. The key lies not in questioning How innovation emerges, but rather in understanding When it surfaces. Innovation serves as a vital tool to address challenges and risks through proactive thinking and planning.

Furthermore, the pillars of transparency, equality, and a non-biased culture play a pivotal role in fostering Innovation. These elements are essential components for creating an environment that encourages creativity.

In conclusion, Governance structures should prioritize the promotion of Risk Management, Transparency, Equality, and a Non-biased culture to cultivate an innovative framework. Embracing these principles can lead to a harmonious coexistence between Governance and Innovation.

Good reminders, Tarek. Governance is required to meet delivery & control objectives but it needs to be "fit for purpose" as far as the context and complexity of a given project.

The draft Eighth Edition of the PMBOK Guide has done a good service by adding Governance as a performance domain and providing guidance around establishing it.

Innovation is also predicated on a foundation of psychological safety at the team level. Without that, the pillars you mention are on shaky ground.

Yes, that's a solid point. Even when such innovations are expected to evolve from regulatory changes, their emergence can be missed, perhaps ignored by those keeping track.

Thank you for sharing. I do not agree with you about governance restrain innovation. Governance just put clear basic rules to be follow but organizations can innovate without problems taking into account that rules. You can find lot of examples on that.
