Critical Success factors for project?????

Hi Guys, I'm nearly finishing my Project Management course, I am quite fascinated about it and would love to get into it more deeply, not sure how, yet. But for now a huge favour, as a part of my Research paper I need to write what are the critical success factors for project manager that will lead to successful project, so I thought it is probably the best to ask proffessionals in the field. Thanks so much for any help!! Regards, Natalia

Natalia:
It would seem more realistic to provide us your critical success factors (pick five) and ask us to comment. Especially since you just finished your course; you should have some idea of the role of a PM, what a project is and what would success look like when the project is completed. Share your description of your example project and your 3 - 5 critical success factors.
Thanks so much Naomi,
I'm not sure if that would be the right approach, but I was thinking of dividing the factors into 3 groups ie:
Before:
-Correct estimates,
-Make sure project is realistic
-Ask client all required questions, and even more to have the best 'vision' of the project
During:
-Have crystal clear requirements (both PM +Team members)
-Avoiding/manage scope creep
-Risk/Issues management,
-Great communication between everyone involved in project,
-Weekly meetings, reports,
-Sign-off the project
After:
- Post Evaluation

Do you think that makes sense or id it to much of the factors, they all seems to be very important though.

Thanks so much for your help!

People. More than a Project Manager be a Leader, motivate and inspired. For me this is the main factor. If you treat your resources and team as people and apply the same values that you would apply in a family project success is imminent. Of course you have to also applied your Project Management theoretical knowledge and experience. Good Luck! Buena Suerte!
Thank you Eslam and Maria!! It really helped, it is great to hear it from experienced professionalises as you can relate it to your experience etc. Thanks a million!

Wow, that's amazing Michael, thanks so much! I really didn't even hope for such an effort from someone :) Really appreciated. You must have a lot of knowledge and obviously experience in the field. Thanks so much again, the article is great very specific and the real life examples make it so interesting as well as valuable, especially for someone like me who doesn't know much.

Hi Natalia,
There are some interesting comments on the article I wrote. I think you might want to check them out, and leave a comment there, so that you are notified about followup comments. This was a good question and we might get an interesting discussion out of it.
