I am going through the PMP Exam Prep Course offered by PMI. I am in the section on conflict management and I clicked on a paper to read entitled "Conflicts in the Project Environment" from 2007 (Guan, D. (2007). Conflicts in the project environment. Paper presented at PMI® Global Congress 2007—Asia Pacific, Hong Kong, People's Republic of China. Newtown Square, PA: Project Management Institute).
It contains a section on "Common Cultural Awareness Key Points" that I found highly offensive. Why is this paper still being shared as a valuable resource in the PMP training course? In my opinion this should be removed.
Would love to hear others' thoughts. I wanted to email PMI directly about this but couldn't find a good email address to use.
I would assume that PMI's standard customer care contact options could be used.
As the majority of members in this community wouldn't have taken this course, could you post a link to the paper so others might take the time to read it and provide their opinions on the contents?
