Project excellence refers to the consistent delivery of projects efficiently with the application of project management best practices, tools and techniques, to achieve significant outcomes that:
1)Meet or exceed stakeholder expectations,
2)Ensure project tripple constraints are under control, and
3)Contribute to the strategic goals of the organization.
In my own opinion from my experience, achieving the above requires management of people side of the project and as well as application of tools and techniques where both Emotional Intelligence and Artificial Intelligence come to play vital role.

First of all apologies if I did not understand the post. With all my due respect, you are mixing things. And just to comment, AI can simulate emotional intelligence. It is the best thing to do training AI entities. I am writing it because I am a researcher from 1989 and obviously I am apply it in the field from that time. Then, I have to alert: AI is a board term. So, nothing new below the sun. BUT REMEMBER: human in the loop is the basement of AI.

Sergio Luis Conte Thank you for your perspective
Your contribution highlights an important distinction: while Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI) are fundamentally different in origin and nature, their interplay is increasingly relevant in project environments.
You're absolutely right: AI is a broad domain, and its ability to simulate certain aspects of EI — such as recognizing emotional tone or adapting interactions — is advancing rapidly.
Yet, this simulation does not equate to genuine empathy or relational depth, which remain distinctly human capabilities.
That’s why many current discussions emphasize “human-in-the-loop” as a foundational principle: to ensure AI supports, rather than replaces, human judgment, ethics, and emotional nuance — especially in leadership and project settings.
So rather than seeing it as a confusion, perhaps the original post aimed to provoke reflection on how these two forces — human and machine — can coexist and complement one another in the pursuit of project excellence.
Appreciate the reminder that while the technologies evolve, our responsibility to apply them wisely remains constant.

TAIWO POPOOLA An excellent and timely reflection.
Project excellence today increasingly depends on the integration of Emotional Intelligence (EI) and Artificial Intelligence (AI), rather than a preference for one over the other.
EI is fundamental for effective communication, conflict resolution, stakeholder engagement, and fostering team cohesion — all critical for navigating complexity and uncertainty.
AI, in turn, offers analytical precision, automation, and predictive capabilities, improving operational efficiency and supporting data-driven decisions.
Both have complementary roles:
- EI strengthens human relationships.
- AI enhances technical and analytical performance.
Project excellence occurs when technology and humanity reinforce each other — with ethics, clarity of purpose, and a focus on real value. Saving Changes...
